Description

A Conspiracy to Save Life: The Birth of Moses in Art and Text

Sunday February 24 @ 2 PM
Speaker Lynn Liebling

Come and explore the events surrounding the birth of Moses and the women who played a role in this dramatic story: Yocheved and Miriam, the daughter of Pharaoh, and Shifrah and Puah. We will look at Torah, Midrash, commentary and visual images to probe the nuances of this central text in Jewish tradition.

Lynn Liebling has been fascinated with the art and culture of Ancient Egypt since acquiring her Master’s Degree in that subject from NYU. After moving to the Midwest, she pursued her other passion of learning about Judaism, becoming a Jewish educator with a Master’s in Judaic Studies. Lynn loves to use her background to help others see each field of study from a wider perspective, gaining new insights and appreciation for both Ancient Egypt and Israel.
